FIRST IMPRESSIONS: JEFFREE STAR'S SCORPIO LIQUID LIPSTICK

Being a little bit of a phobe when it come's to ordering on the internet I discovered through a few friends that Jeffree Star had appeared on our UK shored via Beauty Bay. I knew I HAD to make an order. I've been desperate to try one of his lipsticks since he released his line after being a fan of his since the oh dear lord I'm going to go there - Myspace days. After hearing such good things about his liquid lipstick line and a little special discount I took the plunge and ordered my first lipstick to try out.

Upon arrival it arrived in the infamous cute pink box (sorry about the dog eared look, it was my daughter who took a shine to it). I was so excited so finally have my hands on it.

On first testing I found that it glides on very easily and the applicator is to actually fit your lips which makes things that much easier when applying. The colour is super pigmented and is very true to shade that you see in the bottle. I always find that when I use a colour it isn't quite the same shade but even when it's dry it's only ever so slighly darker. I apply one coat all over my lips and a slight bit more in the middle for coverage. It is completely opaque though which I always find harder when it comes to plum/nude shades. I've photographed the shade I bought which is Scorpio below, and tried to keep it so it's true to colour. It's like a ashy plum colour which dries a little bit more blue toned than red. It looks amazing on every skin tone!

I bought Scorpio because it's a colour that's not quite out there on the UK market that I'm aware of and it's such a beautiful shade. JS's line is always on trend when it comes to colours and I'm in such awe of this liquid lipstick that I really want more more more! I've inserted a picture of myself wearing it and what it looks like on a light-medium skin tone with light hair. I think it looks great with winged eyeliner rather than a smokey eye. Or if you like a more dramatic look like me, huge eyelashes to make your look pop.

I found the lipstick easy to wear and when I reapplied after eating or drinking throughout the day, it didn't destroy the lipstick underneath. It's such a lovely texture and doesn't feel drying as of yet and isn't sticky. It's not the cheapest lipstick on the market but I would certainly pay twice the price for such a good lipstick!

Have you tried any of the Jeffree Star make up line yet? What do you think?
Until next time,

MIFFY SENSORY TOY REVIEW AND A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

miffy sensory toy review

As a child I was always a fan of the cute minimalist bunny that is Miffy. I try to share a bit of influence on to my daughter. What I mean by this is that I encourage her to play with some of my childhood favourites such as The Moomins, Teletubbies, Miffy and Peter Rabbit. Recently I found out that Miffy does a range of toys for babies that helps encourage sensory play and their learning abilities. We've tried many toys and games and sensory things for babies with Imogen. That's when I got the chance to review the Miffy Sensory Toy.  Well.. Is it worth shelling out for?

DECORATING A BIRTHDAY PARTY ON A BUDGET.

May is one of the crazier months in a year in my life. It's full of birthdays, anniversaries, friends and more. Trying to plan different days and parties for my daughter left me in a stressed rut and I was constantly panicking. As it was Imogen's first birthday I took everything on board and tried to do it all myself from cakes, to making the decorations, to panic buying table cloths in the end and I wish I had a party planner or an easier way to tackle everything for her big day. At the same time, I was helping a friend out plan her daughters birthday which was just a mere week later. So do you want to know how I didn't melt down the second time around?

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT LILAC GREY HAIR.

Scott Cornwall review lilac grey hair dye toner

So over the years I've experimented with nearly hundreds of colours. I've had black hair, blonde hair, pink, green, blue, silver, yellow, orange and red hair and many of colours in between. I always found it hard to find that perfect grey toned lilac hair dye colour and wished that someone would just create it already instead of me having to mix several colours myself. Being a DIY hairdresser I prefer to trust my own hands and colour my hair myself and in my own time so having a kit at home would be my perfect answer. Luckily, I know of such a product that does all this in one.

BLOG ON MOSI EXPERIENCE AND GOODY BAG HAUL

What a crazy week it's been! Last sunday I headed to my first bloggers convention in Manchester for Blog On Mosi. It's a bloggers convention for all types of bloggers. Throughout the day you get to attend different sessions all about blogging from bloggers and people in the industry, along with being able to meet and talk to brands in person that want to work with you. And let's not forget, lunch, cake and wine, and the infamous goodie bags everyone ends up with at the end of the day. So would I go again?
