Oh My Blog is a monthly interview series, where fellow bloggers come together to answer a series of questions on a specific theme. This is a chance to get acquainted with a whole range of bloggers, some of whom you may not have heard of before, and learn a little more about them!

This month, the theme is Mums (because it’s Mother’s Day today!) and we’re hosting Amy from AllThings Amy! It's running a bit late as I'm behind currently with a secret project, however I wanted to share something on Mothers Day and what better than to talk about your own mum?!

1.      Introduce us to your mum. What’s her name? What does she do? Reveal her age if you dare!
My lovely Mum is called Jan, she’s rocking her fifties and she owns her own business.

2.      What’s the one thing your mum always used to say to you?
I can’t really remember anything prominent until I became 18/19. She told me to believe in myself and that I was a lot braver, and stronger than I thought I was. Ultimately she was right, and she still says it now when she knows I need to hear it.

3.      Someone’s playing your mum in a film. Who is it and why?
She hates me saying this and she’d kill me for saying it publicly but Eileen from Coronation Street. I always say my Mum is just a thinner version of her!

4.      She’s won the lottery. What’s the first thing your mum buys for herself?
Probably a car, or yet another fancy holiday!

5.      What embarrassing story about you does she always tell when you meet new people?
I cannot even write this here.

6.      What are your plans for Mother’s Day this year?
Well it’s my first as a Mum so I’ve no idea what we will do. I’ll see my Mum at some point, I might suggest we all go for a Roast Dinner!

7.      What’s her favourite TV show at the moment?
She loves Countryfile (she opened a Twitter account just to tweet them pictures of our lovely Cornish countryside, ha!)

8.      What’s the biggest or most important thing that your mum inspired you to do?
To start my life again. It’s a long story, but things weren’t great for a few years and I basically had to restart completely.

9.      Your round at the bar! What’s your mum drinking?
G & T or a large Merlot!

10.  What’s the biggest different between you and your mum?
Oooh this is a tough one, I swear the older I get, the more I’m becoming just like her! I think probably her views on things, I’m a lot more liberal than she is.

11.  Most important question of the lot. What is your mum’s stance on 50 Shades of Grey? Does she love it? Hate it? Not even know what it is?
She thinks its rubbish.

12.  What’s your favourite memory of your mum?
Oooh I have quite a few, but I think her 50th birthday party is high on the list. There are six of us, and my sister flew over from The Falklands to surprise her.  She was so happy, and had a whale of a time surrounded by all her family and friends.

13.  What do you think your mum was like as a kid?
Mischievous but hardworking.

14.  Cast your mind back a bit; what was the thing you did as a child or teenager that made your mum the angriest she has ever been with you?
I’m not going to say the thing that made her angriest but she wasn’t too happy when she found out I’d been to the under 18’s nightclub that she was forever telling me I wasn’t allowed to go to.

15.  Finally, what’s the BEST piece of advice your mum ever gave to you?
Give people a chance, if it wasn’t for that then I don’t think I’d be a Mum now!

If you loved this, then you should definitely check out more of Amy over on her lovely blog and social media channels!
