IN THE NIGHT GARDEN LIVE SHOW AND REVIEW AT INTU TRAFFORD CENTRE

In the night garden live ITNGL

Over the course of the weekend I took Imogen to go watch In The Night Garden Live at Intu Trafford Centre. She is such a huge fan of the show so as soon as I heard it was coming to town I jumped at the opportunity to take her. She is only 14 months old but loves the show so dearly and I was so excited for the day to come. So what was the show actually like? Was it worth it?

On Monday we visited the showdome which is held on the overflow carpark near John Lewis. It really was a heck of a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be! Upon arrival we were greeted and went to find a good seat for Imogen to see the show. As Imogen is young I prayed that she would enjoy it but the staff kindly told me that if it was too much and too loud that there is a place backstage where you can watch the show on a screen which is an amazing thought! We bought her a light up spinny toy for £7.50 which I thought was reasonably priced considering it is a ITNG toy at a show. I would just like to apologise for the quality of photo's in advance, we were at the back, with no light or flash allowed.

We went and watched the Pinky Ponk show and even though we sat right at the back where there was less people, it was still a small and intimate show and Imogen could see clearly all of the characters. The show itself was such a magnificent show and was well acted out. They had helpers on the stage with the props and the characters but it added to the show and it was very clever especially when they changed sizes of the characters.

Imogen only had two little cries which for her, was amazing. I was so proud of her. It is a little bit loud in parts and I think thats what frightened her but she did amazing and it was such a great atmosphere. Iggle Piggle, Makka Pakka, and Upsy Daisy all sang their songs twice and all the children in the audience sang at the top of their lungs and clapped along and it was so lovely to see.

During the show it was Makka Pakka washing everyones faces and when he used his soap bubbles blew on the characters. A little further in the show, bubbles blew into the audience and got all the little ones super giddy and excited. It made for great interaction with the show and got all the children joining in.

It was just such a heartwarming and lovely show and is well worth every penny. On the site itself it is equipped with food warming stations, toilets, baby changer, places to store your buggy during the show, food and drinks and even a colouring station to keep the children occupied while they waited for the show.

At the show you have a chance to meet the characters if you book alongside your ticket, or book on arrival on the day and get a special photo. I had took Imogen previously to meet Iggle Piggle and although she was a bit scared due to his sheer size she was excited to see her favourite celeb in person. It was a special day and I'm glad I have a photo to treasure and show when she's older. I mean it's not every day you see these characters in costumes on the street unlike some other popular tv shows. It just made it a bit more special for her even at her age.

As we were leaving I purchased a round foil helium balloon for her which cost £4 which I thought was reasonable. They also had Pinky Ponk balloons for sale for £7 but they did look really awesome!

Overall I think it is an amazing show to take the little ones to. The staff were so welcoming and helpful when it comes to little ones. The prices for food and drink were reasonable and so were the gifts. Most things were priced from £4 - £12 and wasn't extortionate like you might expect. It was a great show and atmosphere that any fan of In The Night Garden will love and be extremely excited about.
