DOES IT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE? AN URBAN DECAY NAKED HEAT PALETTE REVIEW.

Over the past couple of months we've seen a tide wave of what is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. How can you escape the internet without seeing and hearing all about it. Unless you're one of the lucky few that managed to get the first batch, or the bloggers that snagged them then you would've noticed they've just launched in our U.K. Stores. Ever dreaming of a warm palette with the perfect orange and red tones perfect for smoky looks, I thought I'd give it a go and see how amazing this palette really is. And is it what everyone has hyped it up to be?
After seeing a few of my favourite Youtuber's trying this palette I just knew I had to have it. I've been a huge fan of Urban Decay since I can remember and lust over ever product launch they bring out. This certainly was no exception however what made this different and made me take the plunge? There was no crazy colours. Every single colour I knew I could use whether it be daytime or nighttime I knew I could make it work. No pops off bright colours that are totally opposite. Just everything you want and need.

It's been a while since I purchased one of their infamous palettes. In fact the last one I bought was the Naked 2 and I luckily received the basics palette through a competition. As soon as I saw the pics online I just said shut up and take my money. I think a lot of people tend to take swatches to heart. Like, let's be honest we all know that UD don't mess around when it comes to palette's so why wouldn't we trust them now? I knew I just had to get in store and grab one for myself to play with. When I first saw the packaging I wasn't wowed over. I mean, it's looks great and just like the name of it, Heat. I just wasn't wowed and in LOVE with the packaging. However as the saying goes, its the inside that counts.

Upon testing the product I found it to be very pigmented which you would expect from UD. I think that each of the matte colours blend beautifully and that the metallics work well if you take your time and don't go crazy when using your brushes. The packaging is made from a hard plastic that feels really secure and sturdy and has a decent sized mirror for using on the go.

There is only one thing I would change in particular about the palette, and it is the Ashes shade. For me personally I would've liked to see a more purpley toned purple. When you use it on the eyelid, it comes across a bit more ashy (just like the name) and not like the shade in the pan at all. I think it's okay to deepen looks that you can create but personally I just expected it to be a lot darker and a bit more vibrant. Other than that, I think it is the perfect warm palette.

The thing I love most about this palette is the fact that is has a range of different warm tones that I think would suit every skin tone but the fact it's all under one piece. I've looked for warm palettes for around 5 years that probably would compare to this in colour range and I'm still ecstatic that it exists. Every time I've seen a brand come out with a warm palette to compare, there have always been colours that I think don't belong there. It's refreshing to see that someone gave to the people, what the people want!

Overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE this eyeshadow palette. It's probably my favourite ever palette. That's how much I love it. I can't wait to try out more looks with it especially some dramatic lashes and smoky eyes! Keep an eye out over on my Instagram here to see some makeup looks coming soon!

Until next time,
